Jordan Poole's Return to Chase Center: Warriors Defeat Wizards

Jordan Poole, former Golden State Warriors player, returned to Chase Center on Friday night as a member of the Washington Wizards. Poole, who was traded to the Wizards for Chris Paul on draft day, was saluted with a pregame video tribute and greeted with a warm standing ovation. He then hit an 18-foot jumper from the wing to start the game. Although Poole scored 25 points, it was not enough to come away with a win against his former team. The Warriors defeated the Wizards 129-118, improving to 14-14 on the season.

Poole's tenure with the Warriors couldn't have worked out any better, except for the way it ended. He started the first half of the 2022 season before Klay Thompson returned from his injuries, then subbed for Stephen Curry when Curry was sidelined. Poole's scoring was something the Warriors missed, and his contributions cannot be minimized.

Seemingly loose and light-hearted, Poole smiled as he made the rounds of hellos and hugs during his return to Chase Center. He briefly lost the ball, retrieved it from a fan, and then playfully threw a pass back to the sideline to get a few boys from Israel involved in his warmup routine. They absolutely loved it. Part of the Warriors' 2022 championship, Poole, 24, was moved by the ovation he received from the fans.

The Warriors' dynamic duo of guard Steph Curry and forward Klay Thompson combined for 11 three-pointers, with Curry going for 30 points after only having three at the end of the first quarter and not even playing in the fourth quarter. Jonathan Kuminga chipped in with 22 points on 9-for-11 shooting, and Jackson-Davis grabbed a season-high 15 rebounds to go with 10 points. It was easy to see why the Wizards will likely finish this season with one of the five worst records in the NBA.

In conclusion, Jordan Poole's return to Chase Center was emotional and memorable, but the Warriors came out on top with a convincing win against the Wizards.
