Warriors Defeat Wizards in Jordan Poole's Return to Chase Center

The Golden State Warriors defeated the Washington Wizards 129-118 on Friday night at Chase Center, improving their record to 14-14 on the season. The game marked Jordan Poole's first return to Chase Center since he was traded to the Wizards during the offseason.

Trayce Jackson-Davis Turned the Game

Poole scored 25 points, but it was not enough to secure a win against his former team. The Warriors stumbled out of the gate, allowing the Wizards to build an early 8-point lead. However, rookie big man Trayce Jackson-Davis turned the game around when he entered off the bench. The Dubs took a 26-24 lead in the final minute of the first quarter, their first of the game, and never trailed again. Jackson-Davis finished the game with his second consecutive double-double, racking up 10 points, 15 rebounds, 3 assists, and a block in 24 minutes of action.

Point & Shooting

Steph Curry led the Warriors with 30 points, including eight 3-pointers, while Klay Thompson added 20 points on the strength of four 3-pointers. Jonathan Kuminga chipped in with 22 points on 9-for-11 shooting, and Jackson-Davis grabbed a season-high 15 rebounds to go with 10 points. The Warriors made 11 three-pointers in the second half, and the Wizards were unable to keep the game close. To put more sting into the loss, Washington forward Kyle Kuzma left the game in the third quarter with right knee soreness and didn't return.

The Warriors' victory was a reminder of their potential, and the team's fans are hopeful that they can continue to build on this momentum. The Warriors have struggled this season, but with the return of Klay Thompson and the emergence of young players like Jackson-Davis and Kuminga, they have the pieces to make a run in the playoffs. The team's dynamic duo of Curry and Thompson combined for 11 three-pointers, and Curry finished the game shooting 12 for 30. The Warriors will look to build on this win when they face the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday.
